Quick reality check
Yahoo usually offers IMAP. That matters. You are not stuck with forwarding only. You can read the mailbox from clients and from sync tools.
- Gmail app: add the Yahoo account on your phone.
- Forwarding: possible if Yahoo keeps it stable; watch spam.
- Thunderbird or another client: unifies outside Gmail web.
- Sync into Gmail web: keeps filters and search in one place.
If your Yahoo is a junk drawer for old signups, the app may be enough. If important mail still lands there, treat it like a work mailbox.
