How to receive info@yourdomain.com in personal Gmail

The most common case I see looks like this: you have a domain with three or four mailboxes at the host (info@, sales@, sometimes lastname@). You answer everything from personal Gmail because that is where filters, phone sync, and history already live. The cPanel webmail is for emergencies only.

That setup lived on “Check mail from other accounts.” With POP and Gmailify going away, you need another path.

What people try first

  • Google Workspace: right move if the business is growing and you want MX on Google. Expensive if you only need a few mailboxes inside a free Gmail.
  • Forwarding to Gmail: cheap to set up, fragile with SPF/DKIM.
  • Gmail app with IMAP only: fine on the phone. It does not give you the same unified web inbox.
  • Thunderbird or Outlook: solid clients, but you leave the Gmail web habit behind.

If your goal is Gmail web

You need something that reads each domain mailbox and inserts mail into the Gmail account you already use. That is basically what Mail Fetcher did, without the old account limits and without depending on Google keeping the feature.

With GetPopMail you connect mailboxes over IMAP, authorize Gmail once, and messages show up with labels. You can keep replying from Gmail (with Send mail as if you already had that set up).

Quick checklist

  1. Write down IMAP host, username, and password for each domain mailbox.
  2. Confirm the host allows IMAP (most serious plans do).
  3. Decide whether you keep copies on the server or archive as you go.
  4. Test with one mailbox first (info@) before moving the rest.

You do not have to leave Gmail to keep using domain email. You do have to stop relying on a feature Google is already turning off.
