When a free feature goes away, a lot of people answer with “I will pay for the official product.” Workspace is excellent if you want MX on Google, team users, and central admin. It is not mandatory just because Check mail disappeared.
Choose Workspace if
- Several people need @yourdomain.com mailboxes.
- You want policies, audit tools, and Google Workspace support.
- The domain is the center of the business and the monthly cost is fine.
Stay on personal Gmail + sync if
- You are a freelancer or a tiny team.
- The host already provides mailboxes and you only want to read them in Gmail.
- You do not want to touch DNS/MX right now.
